HCP: Your "course handicap". This number is how many strokes you're given "free" due to inequalities in skill levels. It is computed from your Handicap Index (which is what we normally call our "handicap")
and varies with each course and everyone else's handicap.
NET: The raw score minus the course handicap. This net score evens the playing field so that players of even wildly different skill levels can compete with each other. Using the NET score, everyone has a fair chance of "winning" a round simply by playing the best they can.
Whoever has the lowest Net scores is the real winner, as they played the best the game of anyone, relative to their skill/potential. Highlighted cell denotes
the net winner of the outing.
ADJ: This is an adjusted score computation, based on official USGA ratings for courses. You can globally compare this score with any other adjusted score, even across different courses. Intuitively, it is a normalized score telling you what your score would have been on a standard par 72 course playing at the level that you did. So this allows you to compare any performances on a globally standardized scale.
Adjusted Scores are much more useful to compare than raw scores since raw scores can vary a lot depending on which course you play (45 at Pruneridge is much easier than 45 at Fremont, for example).
FW+ - Percent of "solid drives". This consists of hitting a fairway off the tee and hitting it
a reasonable distance given the club you're using (>150 yards for drives, >125 with irons, etc.). The
distance requirement assures you're not just hitting fairways by dribbling it or clunking it straight
off the tee.
GIR - Greens In Regulation. The number of greens hit in regulation, which is defined
as Par minus 2 strokes. So on a par 3, that means you hit the green in one shot. On a Par 4, you hit the green
in two shots. On a par 5, you hit the green in 3 shots. Essentially means a hole where you played
your long shots perfectly and landed on the green in the expected number of shots. A strong
indicator of how good your tee and approach shots are.
U/D - Up-and-Downs. For all shots that are not on the green but within 50 yards of the hole,
this is the percentage of time that you finished the hole in two or less shots. Usually this will
be a pitch/chip (i.e. the "up") and then a single putt (i.e. the "down"). This is a strong indicator
of your short game, as it will take either a very good pitch/chip or a very good putt.
Putts - Average number of putts per hole.
Colored rounded rectangle next to your name is the tee color played from.
Star ratings indicate how good this outing was relative to your past 20 rounds. 1-5 stars,
by percentiles (e.g. 4 stars is 60-80 percentile, 5 stars is 80+ percentile, etc.).
An asterisk (*) next to a name means that this outing is being used in the
handicap calculation. (And therefore is one of the player's better recent outings.)
"(PB)" means Personal Best for that course.
"(CR)" means Course Record.
